Jose Luis (El Cholo) Vazquez was Alberto's youngest brother and his mother's youngest child of nine.
Luis died of a brain tumor on October 11th, 2004 in a hospital room in Guadalajara surrounded by family. He was 35 years old.
Many family members in So Cal were unable to attend, so they had a memorial service for him on the beach in Santa Monica. The Sunday, October 24th event was organized by Alberto.
There was food, a circle of prayer, some remembrances and stories about Luis and a scattering of rose petals into the ocean.
